HMD Global has announced the most affordable Nokia smartphone: Meet the Nokia 2

HMD Global has announced the most affordable Nokia Android smartphone till date. The device dubbed the Nokia 2 is now launched in India.

The device got launched during a media event which took place today.

The Nokia 2 runs on stock Android Nougat 7.1 out of the box. The company, however, has assured a future Android Oreo update for the device to be rolled out.

The device looks pretty neat and solid thanks to the aluminum-polycarbonate bonding. The prime highlight of the Nokia 2 is going to be the battery. The device would last 2 days on a single charge as claimed by the company. How well does this hold true – is something which is still untested. The device is pretty durable too as it packs in IP52 drop protection.

Coming to the specifications, there’s no bells and whistles here. This is not surprising at all considering the price point the company is offering the Nokia 2 at.

Nokia 2: Price and Release Date

The device has been priced at a reasonable ($115) and will go on sale starting mid-November. There are, indeed, not a lot of things to go crazy about the Nokia 2, but the mere fact that the company has managed to pack in a solid battery life at such a price makes the Nokia 2 stand out. If you are a Nokia fan, chances are highly unlikely that you would miss out on this one.
