Asus Zenfone 4 to be updated to Android Oreo by the end of December

The latest iteration of Android, Android Oreo is slowly spreading across various Android devices.

The Asus Zenfone 4 is soon going to be added to the list of the devices which run on Android Oreo 8.0.

If reports are to be believed, the device is going to be updated by the end of December 2017. Looking at the source of the information, it is almost certain that the news is true.

An Asus discussion forum moderator with the handle Green1_ASUS has recently confirmed the news. Specifically, the ZE554KL variant of the device will be updated for sure.

If the news holds out to be true, the Asus Zenfone 4 series is going to get the essential Android Oreo features like the Picture-in-Picture mode, notification dots, notification channels, smart text selection, and a lot more under the hood.

Meanwhile, reports of the Asus Zenfone 3 getting updated to Android Oreo 8.0 have also been popping up. This is a very positive sign considering Asus is not seeing good times in the Android market lately.

Even the top tier smartphone manufacturers have not yet started pushing the latest Android version to its mid-range smartphones.

Till now, there is no official confirmation about the update. Hopefully, the news would turn out to be true and we would see Oreo running on the device in a matter of a week or two.
